Work stress and burnout are very common today. Burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, unable to meet constant demands, and unable to pursue your goals. Burnout can affect a person’s nervous system by causing fatigue, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.

In the Asana study, 67% of women and 59% of men reported experiencing burnout, and 63% of employees overall said they experienced burnout.

Why do women experience more burnout than men?

Women may experience burnout more than men due to social pressures such as expectations to perform both in the workplace and at home, leading to increased stress and fatigue. Women often feel more pressure from society to perform, both in their professional and personal lives. They are often expected to juggle multiple roles, such as being a mother and a career woman, which can contribute to increased stress. This added stress can lead to burnout as they are unable to meet the demands of all their roles and responsibilities. Women also tend to experience burnout more quickly than men, due to a combination of biology, socialization, and other environmental factors.

Jacinda Ardern, the now resigned Prime Minister of New Zealand, recently spoke out about her own experience of burnout and its effect on her nervous system.

She described feeling overwhelmed and exhausted which can all be symptoms of burnout. Ultimately, burnout can lead to long-term health issues and should not be taken lightly.

Clinical EFT is an alternative therapy for emotional wellbeing that can be used in the workplace.

Clinical EFT stands for Clinical Emotional Freedom Techniques and is based on the premise that negative emotions can be released through tapping on specific pressure points. This simple technique can help employees to reduce stress and overwhelm, and to cope better with difficult situations. Clinical EFT has been proven to be effective in reducing stress and anxiety, as well as improving overall psychological well-being.

By tapping on specific parts of the body while focusing on a certain emotion or thought, an individual can release the emotional charge attached to it. This is because when a person experiences a negative emotion, their body stores the energy of that emotion in the form of an electrical charge. These electrical charges that are stored in the body are known as “energy meridians” and it is believed that by tapping on them, the energy will be released, allowing the person to let go of the emotion and gain emotional balance.

Clinical EFT has 100+ research studies conducted to prove it’s efficacy. There are a variety of resources available to learn more about Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). These include books, online courses, and live seminars, as well as workshops and private sessions with certified practitioners.
